This is not okay

Mask made from crumpled up & folded over newspaper articles + sharpied on the phrase, "This is not okay"

Goal: Look at why the f*** we are even doing this project in the first place. So many medical professionals are risking their lives in trying to deal with coronavirus and the lack of face masks due to panic buying is not making their jobs any easier. It also isn't helping people who are at risk or who actually need facemasks in the first place. So then in designing a project where you have all of the art students make a facemask, what are you inherently asking, doing, connotating? Is it okay to make light of this serious issue? Is it okay to ask people to make facemasks when we are being told over and over again buy silenced and overlooked scientists that they don't help the general public? Where is the context for this project?
